There is the smell of fresh paint wafting throughout the house, which isn’t sitting right with my brain that’s lacking sleep. The comforting thought however is that I’m not the one that has to do the paint work so I should really count my blessings; I can hardly begin to imagine the migraine that will develop if I have to inhale that infernal substance with my extremely cranky brain. In addition, I’ve developed this strange photophobia that has resulted in me sitting in the dark room for most of the day.
So I know I spent much of the last couple of weeks whinging about having too much work and too much to handle, yet now as the week starts and I realize that I no longer have to report at 8am for ward rounds for the next 5 days I’m starting to wonder what I’m going to spend all my time doing. Ah the grass is always greener on the other side. Come on surgery, start already!
Alright, before I take my leave, I’d like to point out that I’m starting to find that lots of people have an extremely skewed concept of passive aggressive behavior hence I have found this to aid all those in denial. Traits that may help identify passive–aggressive behavior:
- Ambiguity or speaking cryptically: a means of creating a feeling of insecurity in others or of disguising one’s own insecurities. (HAHAHA. My favvvvvvorite)
- Convenient forgetfullness: To win any argument with denial.
- Fear of dependency
- Fear of intimacy as a means to act out anger: the passive–aggressive often cannot trust. Because of this, they guard themselves against becoming intimately attached to someone.
- Making chaotic situations
- Making excuses for non-performance in work teams
- Obstructionism
- Procrastination
- Sulking
- Victimization response: instead of recognizing one’s own weaknesses, tendency to blame others for own failures.
- Intentional Inefficiency: Chronically being late and forgetting things, another way to exert control or to punish
Okay, bye bye for now.
